Survey update and FAQs

So it took a while, but good news: our survey has gone out.

If you backed MATTER on Kickstarter and you haven’t heard from us in the last couple of days, check your messages on the site and have a look in your email spam folder.

We’ve had a few questions that I thought I’d address. Firstly: why did it take so long? Kickstarter recommends that you don’t ask for people’s details until you’re quite close to sending out rewards, not least because you want to make sure everyone’s addresses are accurate (people have a habit of moving). We’ve been trying to make sure all the pieces of the MATTER puzzle were in place before we moved on to . That’s taken longer than we thought.

More specifically, there were some other points that it might be useful to address.

Can you give any guidance on T-shirt sizes?

We realise that shirts can have different cuts — one brand’s “small” is not the same as anothers. We’re probably going to use Fruit of the Loom shirts: here’s a sizing guide.

What do I do if I can’t make either of the launch parties?

If your reward level included a launch party or dinner but you won’t be able to get to London or San Francisco you may have discovered a problem: you have to pick one of them! That was an error. But if that’s the case, pick one and then send us a message on Kickstarter or by email and let us know. We may be able to meet up with you on our travels.

What if I move?

Just send us a message on Kickstarter with your new details. The first rewards won’t go out for a few weeks — postcards and T-shirts. Other rewards, like books, anthologies, prints and so on, will not be sent out until we’ve been up and running for a while.
